I won't complain about Sonic's deployment speed, even though I signed up 14 months ago, and dark Sonic fibre taunts me from across the street every time I leave the house. I live in a part of Castro Valley that for more than 20 years hasn't seen Internet infrastructure investment that wasn't paid for by the Federal government. We have the choice of Xfinity or 100Mbps AT&T Uverse. AT&T has only deployed FTTH along very, very narrow corridors parallel to their network they upgraded with fibre to reach public schools that was funded by the Federal government, and a block or two perpendicular if one is lucky and the stars are aligned.
What tiny Sonic is doing puts the Lie to AT&T saying it isn't cost effective to upgrade the network infrastructure in legacy neighborhoods. And I won't start with Comcast.
