Access • Re: San Carlos 10gbps timeline?

Hey folks! So happy to be a part of the sonic network and community. We’re new to San Carlos, and just dropped my first cat6 port in the house, which got me wondering when Sonic may be launching 10 Gbps in our neighborhood. Is there any update on when we could possibly see that kind of speed on and around Hillcrest Rd?

Hi Robert,

I'm glad to hear you're happy with our service! To my knowledge and from what I could find researching, we haven't upgraded our infrastructure in San Carlos to 10gbps yet. We are working hard to expand the infrastructure and upgrade pre-existing areas to 10gbps, but at this point in time, I don't have any timeline to provide for when it'll reach San Carlos.

However, once it is announced for your area, you will receive a notification email regarding it. After the infrastructure is upgraded, you'll also receive an email to upgrade your service to 10gbps, and we'll ship out the upgraded ONT (Fiber modem) for you to install.
