You currently have 10 GB fiber service so I would recommend using Cat 6 or Cat 6a ethernet cable. While you do have to worry about long runs with copper cable, fiber optic cables have essentially no attenuation for up to about 60 miles so luckily the distance won't be an issue. We're in the process of building a backyard ADU, and want to get internet access hard-wired back there from our main house (existing wifi won't reach it). Does anyone know whether that would it be cat 5E or cat 6 cable?
